About the Event

“Window on the World” is a series of webinars led by the Page membership in Japan that is open to anyone working in the communications or related fields in Japan or around the world. We aim to offer useful and actionable insights to help communicators based in global organizations in Japan deal with some of the significant disruptive shifts that are occurring in our world today.

Webinar 1: Responding to the ‘New Normal’
Date: 10:00 am Japan Standard Time, 15 September, 2020

Lessons learned to inform communications strategies fit for the future Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) has gripped the world and made communicators work even harder than ever before. Supporting their C-Suite colleagues with sage guidance, keeping the rest of the business motivated during these strained economic times whilst all along keeping customers, partners and those outside the organization informed as to what’s happening. And all this, from the kitchen table!

What have we learned that can prepare us for the ‘new normal’? How do our actions during the pandemic inform our purpose and how does our communications strategy need to pivot? How do we showcase new products and services in a digital environment? How can we innovate internal communications to meet the variety of new working styles?

Using real-world examples from the launch of Rakuten Mobile and others, these and other questions will be answered by a panel of experts including:
Billie Cole, Vice GM of Corporate Communications at Rakuten
John Short, CCO at LIXIL and
Dominic Keogh, Head of Global Corporate Communications at RICOH
