NEW YORK, NY (September 12, 2013) — The Arthur W. Page Society today announced the formation of Page Up, a new membership organization for the most senior staff leaders in Page member companies and agencies. Page Up offers a quality learning and networking experience to prepare these professionals to assume CCO or agency CEO responsibilities in the near future.

“The CCO’s role is changing profoundly. Tomorrow’s communications leaders will need new skills and capabilities to help their enterprises succeed amid new challenges, and the Page Society has focused its work on helping CCOs acquire these new skills,” said Jon Iwata, chairman of the Page Society and senior vice president of marketing and communications at IBM. “It has become clear that future CCOs also need these capabilities, in addition to a network of peers to prepare themselves to lead in a rapidly changing profession. Page Up offers a unique venue for senior communicators to collaborate with true peers and build the skills needed for the transforming CCO role.”

Page Up members have access to in-person events and online engagement opportunities, including an Annual Conference on November 19-20 in New York, the Page Society Spring Seminar, Insight Forums and a dedicated website and member directory. Event content and other programming will focus on the emergent skills, tools and leadership attributes the next generation of CCOs will need.

Page Up is open to senior communicators nominated by Page members who work at their organizations. The organization has just inducted nearly 80 founding members and nominated its first chair, Sherry Scott, COO at Gagen MacDonald, who will serve in this leadership role through 2014.

“We've all heard the expression that it's lonely at the top,” Scott said. “My network of peers in Page Up can tell you that it often feels even lonelier the next level down when it comes to learning and networking opportunities. I'm looking forward to working with this group of talented and like-minded colleagues to build a one-of-a-kind membership organization that meets our development needs and enables the robust peer network we need to succeed.”
