NEW YORK – September 10, 2018 — Page, the premiere global professional association for senior corporate communication executives, today announced that Dave Samson, general manager, Public Affairs at Chevron, has been elected to the Page Hall of Fame by the Page Board of Trustees. This distinguished honor recognizes those who have had a significant impact on the enterprises they have served or counseled. Samson will be formally inducted at Page’s Annual Conference on September 24, 2018 in Washington, D.C.

“Dave is always finding new ways to level up the role of communications in business and has created value for every company that he’s been a part of,” said co-nominator John Onoda, 30-year communications veteran and consultant at Gagen MacDonald. “He is a brilliant communicator, but what sets him apart is his tireless drive to raise the bar for himself, his teams and our profession. I’m thrilled to see him recognized for his thinking, integrity and leadership.”

Samson has dedicated more than three decades to the communications profession, serving some of the most reputable brands in the world including Chevron, Oracle, IBM and Levi Strauss. He also was a trusted advisor at Ketchum and served as Page’s Chairman in 2016-2017.The Page Honors Committee took special note of Dave’s pioneering work in applying data analytics and predictive modeling to communications and stakeholder engagement at Chevron.

“Just as Chevron geologists understand the complex and varied realities below the ground, Dave uses data to understand the ‘social geology,’ earning the permission to do business through stakeholder engagement, advocacy and building trust,” said Page Chair Aedhmar Hynes.

Inductees are selected by Page’s Honors Committee, chaired by Bill Nielsen, former VP of corporate communication at Johnson & Johnson. “Dave’s experience and thoughtfulness has made its mark on the industry. He stands shoulder-to-shoulder with the icons of our profession and is richly deserving of induction into the Hall of Fame,” Nielsen said.

The most recent inductees are Ron Culp, Professional Director, PRAD Graduate Program, DePaul University; Ray Kotcher, non-executive chairman of Ketchum and professor of the practice at Boston University's College of Communication; Björn Edlund of Royal Dutch Shell (retired); and Richard Edelman of Edelman.
