Members of the Page community were recently hosted by Brian Lott, Chief Communications Officer of Mubadala Investment Company, for an intimate lunch at Mubadala’s London office. The discussion focused on U.S.–UAE relations, particularly in light of the recent visit to the Middle East by former U.S. President Donald Trump.
Brian highlighted the UAE’s long-term strategic vision, including the establishment of the world’s first Ministry of AI, the launch of a University of AI, and deep partnerships with global technology leaders.
He also shared how Mubadala is advancing this agenda through the creation of MGX, its AI-focused investment and venture-building platform. MGX was founded in partnership with G42 and Mubadala, and has since attracted major global investors including BlackRock, Microsoft, Global Infrastructure Partners, and Silver Lake.
Brian also spoke about M42, a Mubadala-backed healthtech company that combines AI and genomics to deliver precision medicine at scale. He emphasized how the UAE leveraged AI and genome sequencing during the COVID-19 pandemic to protect public health, setting a global benchmark for crisis response.
The conversation concluded with a look at the UAE’s growing global influence, highlighted by a recent 1.4 trillion dollar US-UAE trade deal that further cements its role as a trusted economic and geopolitical partner.
